The region, with thousands of miles of accessible, recreational woodland and waterways, appeals to those seeking solitude and the beauty of nature while remaining within 45 minutes of the more urban city of Bangor, which features an abundance of chain restaurants, stores, theaters, museums, and other attractions.
Lincoln hosts a number of charming shops and unique eateries with the convenience of some chain businesses. It sits just a half-hour north of the University of Maine’s flagship campus in Orono that provides NCAA championship sports and a concert hall that draws nationally known acts.
A total of 13 lakes fill Lincoln’s 75 square miles, with Maine’s highest peak, Mount Katahdin, looming on the horizon. Every manner of wildlife can be found in our backyard, and the water runs clear. Winters are snowy, but the summer months often boast temperatures in the 80s and 90s. Maine’s border with Canada is little more than an hour away, and Quebec City is just a day’s drive. The mid-coast of Maine can be reached in two hours.
